Uzbekistan Allows Two Banks To Issue Crypto Cards

Uzbekistan’s National Agency for Perspective Projects (NAPP) has given approval to two private banks — Kapital Bank and Ravnaq Bank — to issue plastic crypto cards under its digital sandbox for crypto regulation.

The Uzbeki crypto card will be called UzNEX and will be supported by one of the world’s leading payment systems – Mastercard. UzNEX will integrate a bank account with access to a crypto exchange and automated exchange mechanism linking traditional banking to the crypto market. The current deadline for final customer rollouts of both banks’ crypto cards is the end of December 2023. Kapital Bank and Ravnaq are committed to crypto development, being two of the three participants registered in the national digital sandbox.
