Thai regulator issues licence to crypto real estate project 20 September 2021

The Securities Exchange and Commission of Thailand has issued a licence to an asset-backed token offering service based on the Ethereum blockchain. The licence was issued through the Thai SEC’s official portal for the initial coin offering established in 2018. The licence was granted to Fraction, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong-based fintech firm Fraction Group, and allows it to list and trade tokens for fractional ownership of physical or digital assets. The licence provides the basis for Fraction’s planned asset digitisation and fractionalisation service, referred to as an initial fraction offering (IFO).
